From 1969 to 1989, 3 patients were operated on in the Cardiac Surgery Depart ment for femoral superficial arteriovenous fistula. They represent 3.4% of the vascular traumas operated on in the same period at the author's institution. In these patients the symptoms were due to swelling; there were no general altera tions. The echo Doppler method was very useful for diagnostic evaluation. Sur gical technique avoided large venous manipulations and ensured anatomical continuity of arteries and veins.
