Lethal Vascular Rupture in a Previously Undiagnosed Case of the Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome: A Case ReportDepartments of Pathology and Surgery, Skive Hospital, Skive, Denmark
Departments of Pathology and Surgery, Skive Hospital, Skive, Denmark Fatal spontaneous rupture of an iliac artery in a previously healthy twenty- year-old man with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type IV is reported. Etiology and clinical findings are mentioned and the high risk of lethal complications in type IV is emphasized. Despite the application of special techniques, mortality fol lowing vessel rupture in such patients remains exceedingly high.
