Chylous Ascites Following Abdominal Aortic Transplantation—A Case ReportFirst Surgical Department of the Vienna City Hospital Lainz, and Head, Vienna Center for Vascular Surgery, Vienna, Austria A seventy-year-old patient developed chylous ascites as a complication after surgery for abdominal aortic aneurysm. After failure of conservative treatment a peritoneovenous shunt (Denver) was placed, which functioned immediately. The patient died four weeks later of massive coronary ischemia. The shunt had been functioning until the patient's death. No chylous fistula was found by au topsy.
