Departments of Surgery and Pathology, Faculty of Medicine and Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital, Safat, Kuwait This report describes a successful aortic embolectomy performed in an adult male admitted with sudden, complete aortic occlusion. The removed embolus disclosed histologic features of a cardiac myxoma. Repeated two-dimensional echocardiography did not show any intracavitary cardiac tumor. To our knowledge, this is only the sixth reported survival of a patient with this condition.
